MUSICALITY TRANSFORMS SHAPE AND COLOUR

CRAFTED BY HAND

The pieces are most often made entirely from scratch - going from melted metal alloy or a metal sheet that is worked by hand into a finished piece. Other times the design is carved out in wax models that go on to be cast in silver at a foundry and then finished by Elsa.

Out of an infinite number of materials suitable for jewellery craft, Elsa has chosen a few as her select favourites, silver, brass, titanium, gold, precious and semi-precious stones. A background in making art pieces allows her to freely associate between found objects, materials, colours and themes, pulling it into her exploration of the expected versus the unexpected. Furthermore, Elsa’s utilises her background in music in the design process: “I strive to create an harmonious interplay between elements, just like instruments in a music composition”.
